Safety Information

Intended use

Easy Release is a disposable infusion set through which insulin is delivered into the subcutaneous tissue, exclusively while connected to DANA Insulin Infusion Pumps. All the users of DANA Insulin Infusion Pumps are the intended users for Easy Release, because this pump is designed to deliver insulin only through DANA Infusion sets.

General Precautions
  • · Replace the reservoir and the infusion set every 3 days as recommended by your health care professional.
  • · This device is restricted to sale by or on the order of a physician. The Easy Release is to be used by patients who have received training from a certified diabetes educator and/or insulin pump trainer and by advice from a physician. Do not disconnect the infusion set from the pump for more than 1 hour unless you have consulted a healthcare professional about how to replace missed insulin. Monitor your blood glucose closely while disconnected and after reconnection.
  • · Check blood glucose 1~2hour after insertion.
  • · Pain may not be felt even if the needle slips out of the body. Regularly ensure it is securely fixed and fully inserted to receive the full dose of medication.
  • · If adhesion is weak or additional fixation is needed, use an over-patch. Replace the infusion set if the plaster loosens or the needle is partially or fully detached from the skin.
  • · If the infusion site becomes inflamed, replace the set, and use a new site until the first site has healed. Repeated use on the same site may cause lipohypertrophy.
  • · Use and store in a cool, dry place within the use and storage temperature range.
  • · Inspect the infusion set for damage before use. Replace the infusion set immediately if any damage is found. Damage may cause insulin leakage and result in hyperglycemia
  • · Do not pull, twist, or overstretch the tubing or connectors during use. Be cautious of tension caused by clothing, belts, or other objects. Such actions may lead to product damage or disconnection.
  • · Before use, ensure all connections between the reservoir, tubing, and infusion site are secure. If leakage is suspected, stop insulin delivery and replace the infusion set immediately. Leakage may result in under-delivery and lead to hyperglycemia.
  • · Be careful not to bend or compress the tube excessively. This can narrow the infusion path or damage the tube, leading to hyperglycemia, infection, and other issues.
  • · Before use, make sure to remove the needle protector and the adhesive tape liner. Failure to do so may prevent proper use of the infusion set.
  • · The site connector and set connector of the infusion set are designed to allow disconnection before activities such as showering. Failure to identify the connector location or understand the disconnection and reconnection method may make it difficult to separate and reconnect the infusion set. Please refer to the instructions and illustrations in this manual to ensure correct method.
  • · Always prime the infusion set to remove any air from the tubing before use. Failure to remove air may result in insufficient insulin delivery, leading to hyperglycemia.
  • · Dispose of the used infusion set safely in accordance with local regulations for medical waste.
  • · Before use, ensure you can identify the connection point between the infusion set and the pump. Failure to understand the connection method will prevent you from connecting the infusion set to the pump, making the device unusable.
  • · Avoid exposure to acidic or alkaline substances. Such exposure may cause deformation of the product, leading to insulin leakage and potentially resulting in hyperglycemia.
  • · Avoid contact with disinfectants such as acetone or alcohol, as these can damage the product.
