DANA 3cc Syringe

The Dana 3cc Syringe is a dedicated insulin syringe for the Dana Diabecare Insulin Pump.
  • • The Insulin reservoir syringe is a 3ml plastic syringe with a 300-unit insulin capacity.
  • • The syringe plunger has a groove on the distal end for attachment to the linking screw that connects the syringe reservoir to the shaft.
  • • Syringe needle is used for filling of insulin from the bottle of insulin.
  • • The Syringe is supplied with a 22G, 26mm straight needle with a protective cap over the needle shaft.

Safety Information

Intended use

DANA 3cc Syringe, a disposable reservoir to be set up inside of DANA Insulin Infusion Pumps, is intended to store insulin for up to 72 hours and to release insulin through DANA Infusion Sets at the rate set by the insulin pump. Briefly, one side of this syringe is connected to the motor of the insulin pump through the linking screw which rotates to generate a linear movement of the plunger of the syringe to release insulin. The other side of this syringe is connected to the cannula of DANA Infusion Sets through which insulin is eventually delivered into the subcutaneous tissue.

General Precautions
  • 1. Replace the reservoir every 3 days as recommended by your health care professional.
  • 2. The DANA 3cc Syringe is to be used by patients who have received training from a certified diabetes educator and/or insulin pump trainer and by advice from a physician.
  • 3. Use and store in a cool, dry place within the use and storage temperature range.
  • 4. Check the syringe for damage before use. If damaged, replace the syringe immediately. A damaged syringe can cause insulin leakage and hyperglycemia.
  • 5. Do not use the syringe if the needle is bent. A bent needle may prevent proper extraction of insulin, making the syringe unusable. Always inspect the needle before use.
  • 5. Do not use the syringe if the needle is bent. A bent needle may prevent proper extraction of insulin, making the syringe unusable. Always inspect the needle before use.
  • 6. Before injection, ensure there is no leakage between the barrel and plunger of the syringe. Leakage during insulin delivery may result in insufficient insulin administration, leading to hyperglycemia. Inspect the syringe prior to use and replace it immediately if any leakage is detected.
  • 7. When filling the syringe with insulin, visually confirm the amount being drawn to ensure accurate dosing. Do not use the syringe if the scale markings are unclear; use a new syringe instead. Failure to confirm the volume may result in underfilling, leading to hyperglycemia.
  • 8. Dispose of used syringes safely in accordance with local regulations for medical waste.
  • 9. Avoid exposure to acidic or alkaline substances. Such exposure may cause deformation of the product, leading to insulin leakage and potentially resulting in hyperglycemia.
